Vision

The Equity Alliance, directed by Alfredo J. Artiles is devoted to research and school reform efforts that promote equity, access, participation and outcomes for all students. Committed to inclusive education, the Equity Alliance values diversity, pushes the boundaries of traditional thinking, and leads by example. We take pride in creating, supporting and promoting educational research that:

  • Eliminates educational inequities
  • Develops inclusive learning environments
  • Upholds the civil rights of students
  • Harnesses the power of family and community involvement in schools and communities

Mission

The mission of Equity Alliance is to promote access, participation and positive outcomes for all students by engaging educational stakeholders, reframing and advancing the discourse on educational equity and transforming public education, locally, nationally and internationally.

Pillars

Know Reframe Engage Transform

Survey the field of education for the current issues that affect educational equity. Receive updated information about teaching, leading, and empowering culturally and linguistically diverse learners. Critically synthesize and create knowledge.

Produce knowledge that informs, challenges and reframes educational discourse towards equitable approaches to education for all.

Through our social media campaigns and participation as an organization using Facebook, Instagram and Twitter we engage and disseminate our products on educational equity.

Transform educational systems by disseminating knowledge that transforms readers toward longstanding equity as it relates to ALL students, including culturally and linguistically diverse students and their communities for praxis.

Outcomes

  • Increase learning outcomes for ALL students,
  • Expand local ownership of educational equity in local, national, and international contexts,
  • Demonstrate the impact of culturally responsive practice and
  • Dispel the myth that individual student and group deficits account for disparities in access, participation, and outcomes.
